Description: Erect or sprawling shrub 0.4–1.5 m high, young stems with short, crisped, appressed, matted hairs to 0.3 mm long.
Alternate, ±llinear to lanceolate, 2.3–8.6(–12.1) mm long, 0.6–1.5 mm wide, mucronate, margins strongly incurved but not hiding the upper surface.
Inflorescence leafy, with tightly clustered flowers. Calyx 2.8–4.3 mm long, tube and lobes with spreading hairs. Flowers orange-golden with an irregular red rim at the base of the standard, keel brownish-red at apex. Standard petal 6.2–7.6 mm wide. Ovary with a tuft of long, appressed hairs in the apical 3/4.
Pods ovoid, 5.5–6.1 mm long, sparsely hairy in apical 3/4.
Flowering: September–December
Distribution and occurrence: Only known from SE of Tamworth in the North Western Slopes and Northern Tablelands between Woolomin, Hanging Rock, Nundle, Bralga Tops and Nowendoc. Recorded from basalt, serpentinite, metasediment, jasper and quartz soils in low heath, woodland or tall open forest communities with numerous shrubs, grasses and herbs, on gentle slopes from 500 to 1100 m.
