Common name: Walcha Bush-pea, Ragged Bush-pea
Pultenaea campbellii Maiden & Betche APNI* Description: Erect to spreading shrub 0.4–0.9(–1.4) m high; stems densely pubescent with short, straight, appressed, matted hairs to 0.4 mm long.
Leaves alternate, lanceolate, 3.4–9.2(–11.5) mm long, 0.6–0.9(–1.1) mm wide, apex acuminate and recurved, margins slightly incurved at maturity, concolorous; stipules 1.7–2.3 mm long.
Inflorescences subterminal, dense, leafy at the base, the leaves often smaller and with enlarged stipules; bracts each composed of a leafless pair of stipules. Flowers 8.5–11 mm long; pedicels 1.0–1.6 mm long; bracteoles 1.7–2.1 mm long, lacking stipules, narrow-ovate, acuminate to bristly, glabrous, attached near base of calyx tube. Calyx 4.5–5.6 mm long, glabrous; lobes acuminate. Ovary glabrous.
Pods ovoid, 6.2–6.8 mm long, glabrous.
Flowering: October–December.
Distribution and occurrence: New England district between Tingha, Nundle and Walcha. Grows in open forest to woodland on a variety of substrates.
NSW subdivisions: NT
Previously considered a synonym of Pultenaea setulosa Benth. by de Kok and West (2002), but that concept is considered too broad and P. setulosa is now restricted to Queensland.
