Description: Low shrub to 0.6 m high; stems one to few, erect to spreading, branching sparse.
Leaves linear, mostly 6.5–8 mm long, apex acute.
Scales surrounding inflorescence (2–) 3–6 times longer than broad,acuminate, with (5–) 8–12 conspicuous veins. Ovary with 10–12(–14) ovules per loculus.
Flowering: Late Spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Uncommon; found in scattered populations in the Pigeon House Range. Grows in sandy soils on gentle slopes in woodland.

Hybridises with Kunzea parvifolia where they co-occur.
